The Freedom Foundation for Media Freedom, Rights and development strongly condemns the armed robbery by the unknown gunmen on the newspaper' HQ in Sixteen Street and looting its equipments and electronic archive on Friday 21,12,2012.
The Freedom Foundation has received a report from the news paper confirming that unidentified gunmen have broken into the newspaper office located in sixteen Street in Sana'a, during the Friday's prayer and stolen the producing equipments, electronic devices and the entire archive of the newspaper since its starting of issuance.
As the Freedom Foundation condemns this illegal and immoral operation that is threatening and endangering the press freedom, it is also fully express its solidarity with the newspaper and considers it a criminal act threatening the media freedom and endangering the life of the workers in the press.
While Alwahdawi is calling the security bodies to quickly reveal the parties standing behind the robbery process of its archive, the Freedom Foundation is also demanding the interior ministry to execute its duty by investigating in the incident , capturing the offenders and revealing the parties standing behind and hold them for accountability as well as provide the necessary protection for the press, and put an end for such criminal acts targeting the media freedom in Yemen.
