Freedom Foundation for media freedom, rights and development concludes today the advanced training course of
TV professional filming and editing for 20 participants from 11 state-owned and private TV channels in Yemen and which last for one week.
The course is organized in collaboration with the public affairs section at the US Embassy in Sana'a and attracted the significant attention and interaction of participants.
This conclusion ceremony has been attended by the information deputy minister for the journalism affairs Mr. Mohammed Shahir Hassan and the deputy of US ambassador to Sana'a Ms. Elizabeth Richard, and the chief of public affairs section in US embassy Mr. Louis Vintor.
The president of the Freedom Foundation Mr. Khaled al-Hammadi has confirmed, at the conclusion Ceremony, the importance of this intensive course dedicated forTV cameramen and editing technicians and the importance of the work they are doing. “They are the base of TV work and the success of this work depending on them” he said. “TV production is essentially a photo” he stated that the Freedom Foundation is keen not to increase the number of trainees in any training course on20 trainees maximum so as to get the maximum benefit of these professional intensive courses and so as that every trainees get his chance of practical application.
He has clarified that this is the fourth training course that FF organized in the first training season of the year 2012 and all training courses has achieved the expected results in a way that exceeded the expectations and with testimony of all participants. He added that the next year is full of the surprises and many of quality courses for all workers in various fields of media.
And in her speech, the deputy of US ambassador, Ms. Elizabeth Richard, has expressed her pleasure to participate in conclusion ceremony for this course after a few weeks of her attendance of previous course allocated for TV correspondents and
in order to know closely the extent of benefit and success of such courses. "I'm sure that you have known and acquired a lot of the experiences and skills, particularly after I have watched a film of your producing”. And “I hope this training course has created an opportunity for you to know each other more and deepens the relationship between each other” she added. All of you are professions and have a long experience and I will not forget what are you doing and through you we recognize the people's opinion.
From his side, the information deputy minister, Mr. Mohammed Shahir Hassan, has appreciated the efforts that Freedom Foundation is doing in the media development and he said "Freedom Foundation is an exceptional from other NGOs in Yemen, as many of NGOs getting a lot of fund from different sources but they are achieving nothing except statements only", and he also expressed his thanks for the deputy of US ambassador and trainers too for their effort in make success for this training course.
He said "We are with your cooperation will be more able to develop the media and express the hopes of the people and aspirations. Besides, the TV editing trainer Mr. Ahmed Samir Jobbah said that “after I watched the practical projects in this course, I'm expecting outstanding future for the participants”. The participants acquired the scientific and practical skills theoretically and practically, “especially that many of them comprehended the technical skills of editing very quickly”.
In the other hand, the trainer of the TV Filming Mr. Mohamed Abdelraouf pointed out that he discovered that all of the participants are distinguished. He said "We provide scientific and practical basics in TV filming and the benefits were more in different sides related to that, at the forefront is lighting fundamentals and how they are tuned”. He explained “This will give the participants a big leap to prove their self and improve their skills in future works”.
In this training course, trainers have reviewed all works that filmed and edited technically in the practical part of training, these works have received the appreciations of the trainers and presence.
At the closing session, the certificates were given to the participants of the TV Filming and editing course. An appreciation certificates were handed to the information deputy minister and to the chief of public affairs section at the US embassy in Sana'a for their continued support and collaboration with Freedom Foundation to bring these advanced training courses to the success and improvement of the media performance in Yemen.
