Freedom Foundation for media freedom, rights and development concluded an

(advanced course of professional reporting for print media) for 25 journalists from state-owned and private newspapers and news websites form different provinces.
Freedom Foundation implemented this training course, which last for three days, within the framework of the project (Media Freedom: Monitoring and Advocacy) and in collaboration and partnership with the European Union delegation in Yemen, in which it is the fourth course in this project lasting for two years.
The training in this course is delivered by the international media development expert and trainer, Prof. ABDELOUAHHAB ERRAMI, researcher and professor at higher institute for media in Morocco and an expert in the media development for national, regional and international organizations, and author of 11 books and publications in the field of professional of journalism.
This course focused on professional writing for news, news reporting, feature stories skills and investigative journalism. It included theory and practice sides, practical exercises, a reformulation of news and reports, examining and evaluation for samples from these three areas, and finally findings and recommendations.
At concluding ceremony - which is attended by the dean and vice dean of Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University, and head of the journalism department - the president of Freedom Foundation, journalist Khaled al-Hammadi expressed the keenness of Freedom Foundation to develop the journalistic skills and promote professional media work in various state-owned and private media outlets from different provinces as well as providing students of journalism schools with practical skills to prepare them for the job market.
He pointed out that this is the 13th. training course organized by Freedom Foundation during the past two years since its establishment.
Meanwhile, Prof. Errami said “I’m happy to conduct this training course in Yemen for the first time, as Freedom Foundation insist to invited me to come to implement this training course in Sana’a for Yemeni journalsists”. He stressed on the importance of getting the press out of hobby to be a profession, so as not to be a career of everyone, stressing on the need to acquire the knowledge, skills and tools that enable the journalists of professional work and translate it into real practice.
For his part, the dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University, Dr. Abdul Rahman al-Shami called on participants in this training course to improve performance, and said, "The professional reporting is very important to bring the required change, in addition to expression and formation of public awareness, which is the real role of the press at the current stage.”
The deputy-dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication Dr. Ali al-Buraihi expressed his thanks to Freedom Foundation for the quality training it conducting for journalists and university students too, describing it as a University Foundation and considering it a synonym of the Faculty of mass communication in the field of training.
