The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN / IFRA) in Tunisia during the period 24 to 26 November 2013, with a wide presence of newspapers publishers and editors, media professionals and stakeholders of media freedom and development .
President of Freedom Foundation Khaled Al-Hammadi has presented in this forum a presentation about the experience of Yemeni activists and bloggers in delivering their voice to the world and the role that they played in influencing traditional local and international media during the Arab Spring.
He spoke about the experience of youth activists during the period of the popular revolution in Yemen (Arab Spring) and its role aftermath, and their prominent role in the news industry and their impact on news agendas for many local and international media through their strong media activity and contribution to the coverage of serious and risky events, who have become an important source of information and footage for media
He gave a clear image for the advanced level reached by political youth activists in Yemen from various political parties, who became leading figures in the media and effectively contributed in the political movement and industry of Yemen's future.
He demanded to fulfill the rights of these activists for their sacrifices by providing them with professional knowledge, training opportunities and advanced qualification in order to help them to be involved in the professional media that they wish to practice and provide them with encouragement and constant care to complete their elements of creativity.
In this Regional Forum, about 150 participants of top newspapers publishers, media professionals and representatives of human rights organizations and media freedom organization and media development from all over the world.
