"We all born free and equal", it is the basis of freedom, justice and peace;. The human rights are universal and unchanging, and indivisible as well. They are civil, political, economic, developmental, social, cultural and environmental rights.
These rights include: the right of life and liberty. The right of security and political participation, the right of freedom of opinion and expression , the right of education and media; the right of communication and interacting, the right of working and living decently and the right of a clean environment.
All of these rights go parallel with duties. Besides, the freedom means responsibility..
Therefore, the Freedom Foundation for media, rights and development in Yemen will contribute with other similar organizations through its program for the promotion of human rights and public freedoms as follows:
ü Encourage journalists and media people to recognize their rights and duties in a society of freedom and justice.
ü Contributing in raising the ceiling of freedom of expression through working with the relevant authorities.
ü Participating in improving and developing legislative and legal environment controlling media work so as to be free, professionally and up-to- date.
ü Increasing the awareness of human rights issues and creating a group of booster and supporters.
ü Develop the concept of the human rights among the media people and citizens and enhance their contribution to the understanding of the facts and issues so as to know their rights and obligations and how to exercise of fundamental freedoms.
ü Develop the awareness of the human rights among citizens and media people and encourage them to share their understanding for the facts and issues. And support them to realize their rights and duties, and the exercise of freedoms.
ü Involve the public in special campaigns for human rights issues.
ü Contribute and work to ensure political freedoms and human rights that include: social and cultural rights in a way that serves the interest of the homeland and citizens.
ü Demonstrate the importance of free, independent, vital and multilateral media and putting freedom of media in the heart of development.
ü To establish the principles of democracy, the rule of law, global and universality of human rights and fundamental freedoms, respecting human dignity, equality and solidarity respect of the Constitution and the law and all documents, laws and conventions adopted internationally.
ü Publishing and distributing international documents and laws and regional and international conventions on human rights
