the award for press freedom and the documentary film (Pen ... Pullets) in the presence of the Human Rights Minister, Hooriah Mashoor, the ambassador of the European Union in Yemen Bettina Muscheidt and the Resident Coordinator of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, George Abu Al-Zulof and many human rights activists and journalists.

199Cases of Media Violations reported during the First Half of 2013 and 14 Violators Standing Behind

Freedom Foundation reveals in its bi-annual report that anti- media violations still pose a threat to the lives of journalists in Yemen

Sana’a (Monday, July 1, 2013):
Freedom Foundation for media freedom, rights and development monitored a number of violations against journalists during the first half of 2013, in the framework of the project : (Media Freedom: monitoring and advocacy), which is implemented in partnership with the European Union mission in Yemen.

The total numbers of cases of violations against media freedom monitored by Freedom Foundation during the period January 1st to June 30th of the year 2013 are 199 cases of violation committed against journalists and media outlets.

Freedom Foundation for media freedom, rights and development has revealed that violations against media freedom are on the rise during the third quarter of this year, (July –August- September 2012), which confirms that the status of press freedoms in Yemen still faces a real threat.

The Freedom Foundation mentioned that it recorded dozens of violations against press freedom in the Yemeni arena during the third quarter of this year through the monitoring unit and advocacy of the Foundation. The number of cases recorded is 57, involving 112 victims of journalists and various media outlets.

Sana'a, 1 July 2012

Freedom Foundation for media freedom, rights and development in Yemen issued its biannual report on the Press Freedom situation in Yemen (January - June 2012) today in Sana'a.

This report covers the first half of this year 2012 with clear image of press freedom situation and accurate figures of monitored violations committed on media freedom and freedom of expression by different parties in Yemen, in which Freedom Foundation registered 126 violation cases in different levels targeted 267 victims of journalists and media.
